Neuro Diagnostics

NeuroDevelopoment & NeuroDiagnostics

Since the early 1990’s, qEEG has been used in the diagnosis of neurodevelopment delays. qEEG quantifies an individual’s current EEG signature (electrical wave lengths) with that of a database of normal EEG signatures.

The difference in the signatures is expressed in terms of a Z score, or degree of deviation from the normal, and is very helpful in distinguishing subtle changes in the anatomy as well as the processing function of the human brain. These signatures can discriminate for and identify developmental delays and the brain systems that are compromised due to these delays. Due to the precise nature of these signatures, the analysis has a sensitivity and specificity of over 95% accuracy.

We use a form of neurocognitive repair and remediation, which helps “retrain” the brain to recover a more normal pattern of brain waves thus developing brain function that may be delayed due to birth, trauma, illness or other cognitive delays.  In addition, our neurocognitive training will improve cognitive function and thus increase IQ performance, memory performance, recall performance and retention.

Often, due to developmental delays, the brain’s sensory system is also delayed.  These developmental delays to the sensory systems, often results in delays or non-development  to the supporting functional processes, which interferes with the emotional interpretation of signals (information) received. This is often a cause of a child’s inability to maintain proper emotional balance and can be expressed as immaturity, anger, fear or inappropriate behavior.

The program includes:

  • Neuroprocessing techniques
  • Auditory processing techniques
  • Visual processing techniques
  • Memory and cognition rehab
  • Mental Processing techniques

The NeuroDevelopment Delayed brain has specific signatures that show up within QEEG diagnostics.
